JANUARY WORKING
The amount of gas manufactured was -ID),200 ft., which, with the amount in holder on January Ist, 15,000 ft., made a total of 134,200 ft. The amount sold to consumers for lighting was 1(1.1,000 ft., for cooking and heating 140,800 ft., and for power 50,300 ft., 15,500 it. was used in the street lamps, 19,000 at the works and manager’s house, and there was 15,000 ft. in the bolder on February Ist, leaving 2(5,000 ft., representing G : ' ; per cent, of the output, unaccounted for 1 . Thirty-six and three-quarter tons of coal was carbonised, yielding 11.400 ft. per ton. MANAGER'S REPORT. The amount of gas manufactured during the mouth of January shows a decrease as against December, but comparing the gas sold with January of last year there is only a, decrease of 10,900 ft., which is \ery satisfactory. The carbonising I'.mnt is working satisfaetuHy.
