Owing to the boisterous weather on Thursday evening there was not a large atlendence at the above function, but those who braved the elements were treated to a (irstclass entertainment, and spent a most enjoyable time. Nearly every item was encored. The Rev. J. it. Bredin presided. Refreshments were provided by the ladies of the congregation, supervised by Mrs John Hoss and Mjss Rough. Instrumental items were given by Misses -Joyce Claris and Ella Patterson (pianoforte duet) and Mr Chas. Simmons (one-string Jiddle). Songs were contributed by Mesdamcs Teviotdale, L. Bullard, Miss Bryant, Messrs Barr, Thus. Henderson, Geo. Henderson, Chrystall and Claris. In the unavoidable absence of Mr Gabites, who was to give some lightning sketches, Mr Hornblow gave a short .-ketch on “noses” as character indicators. The accompaniments were played by Mr S. B, Collins, who was accorded a special vote of thanks. The function closed with the singing of the National Anthem.
