SCHOOL COMMITTEE.
A meeting of tlic local Slate School Coiiuaittec was held lasl night. - Present: Messrs Horn blow (chairman), Pev. J. IT. Bredin, Claris, Ingle, Kellow, W. Signal and Perreau. Correspondence was , received from the Education Board re erection of school, and staling that, plans were being prepared in accordance with the Department's ideas. It was resolved lo deposil the funds raised by the recent fair in aid of re-furnishing the school in the Post OlTice Savings Bank. The action of (he head teacher and secretary in purchasing a number of pictures of Hew Zealand scenery at a cost of £2 10s, was endorsed. The question of subsidies from the Board was held over for a special meeting to be held on Monday night. Accounts were passed for pay-
