ANOTHER FLOATING MINE SUNK.

Captain P. Ilall-Thompson. Naval Advisor to the New Zealand Government, stales that on the morning of the October, in heavy weather, a floating mine was observed by Ihe Anchor Line Steamer Waimea, when proceeding from Wanganui to Greymontli, The mine was |lien off Cape Farewell. After considerable frouble--owing to tin* condition of the weather —the master and crew of the Waimca succeeded in sinking the mine, and so removing a source of danger to shipping.
