However, as the morning wore on the weather conditions improved, and the afternoon turned out beautifully fine. The green was in real tip-top order, and played almost perfectly. It had received a very careful preparation at the hands of the caretaker, Mr C. Nelson, and a feAV enthusiastic members, and from half-past six yesterday morning the roller Avas kept going almost continuously. All the

He referred to the excellent condition of the green, ami took the opportunity on behalf of I lie committee of thanking those few enthusiastic members who had assisted in its preparation. In all small chibs the financial position was usually such that unless a certain amount of work was done voluntarily by members the green could not be kept in good condition, and he appealed to other members to assist in this connection in the future. The great success 1 hat attended the operations of the Club last season he attributed to a large degree to the number of homo ami home matches that were played with neighbouring clubs, and hoped that these visits would be continued this year, as they undoubtedly added very much to the pleasure of bowling.
