FOXTON PATRIOTIC SOCIETY.
A meeting of the Executive Committee was held on Monday evening last, Mr .1. Chrystall being in the chair.
After routine business was discussed, the ref)nest of the public meeting held a Aveek or two ago asking Iho Society to convene a special general meeting at which all agreed to he present and Avork in the interests of the Society, was considered. It was resolved to hold a special general meeting on Thursday, October 3rd, at 7.30 p.m., at the Borough Council Chambers. Various proposals for new activities in connection Avitli the Society will be brought forward, and notices of motion as I'oUoav Avill he discussed: —“That the annual subscription of 2s (id be reduced to Is.’’ “That the membership of the Executive Committee be increased by the election of two more ’ members, who' shall be Returned Soldiers, and shall be elected by the returned soldiers of the district.” Messrs Chrystall, Me Murray, Raino and Kcllow Avore elected a snb-commil.leo to consider securing Club Rooms for returned soldiers. Mr C. A. C. Preston, avlio goes into camp next Aveek, forwarded bis resignation as a member of the Executive Committee, and same was accepted rvith regret. J(. Avas resolved to devote the proceeds of (lie Patriotic Shop on 12th inst. (Men’s Day) to the fund being raised to support St. Dnnstan's Hospital for Blinded Soldiers, and proceeds of shop day, 2nd November, to the Equipment Fund of the local State School The school teachers will have charge of the shop on 2nd November. On Saturday next, 51 h October, {lie Shop will bo under the, charge of the Montoa ladies, and the proceeds Avill be devoted to the Wounded Soldiers’ Fund.
