SCHOOL COMMITTEE.
A mooting of the local State School Committee Avas held last night. Present: Messrs Hornblow (chairman), Rev. Bredin, Perreau, Martin, Ingle, Signal and Kellow. Messrs HornhloAV and Signal were unanimously appointed the Committee’s delegates to the School Committee’s Association. The Chairman explained what, steps had been taken to secure buildings for the accommodation of the children. He slated that oAvners had been very sympathetic, and desired to assist the Committee in carrying on. The loss of books and records Avas a serious item to a number of parents. It was decided that the head teacher make out a list of the pupils’ requirements, and that the Committee endeavour to secure hooks at a reduced cost. Resolved that the cement and gravel for concrete Avork he disposed of in the meantime. It Avas decided to urge upon the authorities to erect the neAV building in concrete. The Chairman Avas authorised to confer with the Board Secretary and foreman of Works in connection with other matters during (heir visit today. Other minor mailers Avere dismissed and the meeting rose.
