FATAL ACCIDENT.
Hawera, August 0. James White, of AVhakamara, was} riding on a motor lorry which was taking furniture to Kaupokonui on 'Wednesday. When going down a hill the brakes refused to net, and White jumped off the lorry, apparently with the intention of spiking the wheels. He slipped, and one wheel passed over his legs, the right receiving a compound fracture, and the left was severely injured. White was brought into the Hawera Hospital, where he died this morning.
