FOOTBALL.
The match between Foxtnn and Shannon, which was: to have been played on tho racecourse on Saturday last, was postponed owing (o the Shannon players having some (rouble with the ears in which (hey were to have made (he journey. Their failure to turn up caused a good deal of disappointmenl, as local people were looking forward to seeing a good game. However, when they did not arrive, the local lads put on a friendly game amongst themselves, and some good football vfas the result. A collection at the gate raised the sum of £1 16s ()d for the injured players’ fund.
