PATRIOTIC SHOP.
Despite • Saturday’s inclement weather, Mesdames S. Fast on and Freeman did good business at the Patriotic Shop, the takings totalling £l7 12s 4d. The sponge cake competition brought out a number of competitors, and Mr Perrean had a somewhat difficult task to separate the winners. The first prize was awnrded to Miss Borlase, and the second to Miss Phyllis McMnrray. There were fourteen entries, and the cakes sold at 2s each. Miss .1. A. Ross won the buttons competition, and the weight of (ho sheep (lib lbs.) was guessed by Messrs Rand, Anderson, Gnpwell and Readdon. Gifts avs acknowledged from the following: —Mrs Woodroofc, Mrs Lynes, Mrs Frank Robinson, Mrs Harvey, Airs Walls, Mrs Pigott (Montoa), Airs John Robinson, Airs Chas. Robinson, Airs Jus. Robinson, Airs Gridin, Airs Bredin, Miss Dickinson, Miss Speirs, Airs T. S. Harper, Airs Renton, Miss J. A. Ross, Airs A. L. Harper, Airs Healey, Air T. S. IT., Air C. Symnnds, Air and Airs A. S. Fusion, Airs S. Fasten, nnd Airs Freeman.
The Afonina ladies will ho in charge of the shop next Saturday.
