During May 43 returned officers Avere gazetted out, 1,227 n.c.o’s. and men were discharged, and 75 (all ranks) returned to duty. The total number of returned soldiers (including officers) at 31st May Avas 21,2(52, comprising 19,55(5 of the Main Body and reinforcements, and 1,706 Samoan.
