BOROUGH FINANCES.
The Borough Treasurer reported af las! night's Council meeting as follows: —
The sum of £252 2s 7d was received during the month of May, and placed to credit as under: District fund account £248 7s 7d, cemetery account £3 15s. The balances of the various funds at the Bank of New Zealand as at the .31st day of May, 1918, were as follow: District fund account, debit, £973 19s 4d, cemetery account, credit, £l4 8s 2d, and the ledger balances at the same date as follows: —Cemetery £l4 8s 2d, contractor’s deposit £l, hospital and charitable aid £3l 18s 3d, library £l6 7s 2d, reserves £4B 16s 6d, sanitation £7B 2s, town hall £34 16s, Whirokino bridge interest £2O 6s, roads and streets interest £l9 4s 9d, Shannon bridge interest £lO 17s lOd, council chamber interest £ll 10s lid, Whirokino bridge additions £24 14s 7d, roads and streets No 2 interest £ls 2s lid, Beach road interest £2l 16s 7d, all in credit, a total of £349 Is Bd. The accounts at debit were: General £745 10s 2d, gas works £544 2s Bd, and imprest cash £lO, total £1,308 12s lOd. SUMMARY. A/cs in Credit 349 1 8 Bank bal. D.F.
