MR. MASSEY AND SIR JOSEPH WARD IN LONDON.
DELEGATES INTERVIEWED,
London, June 9
Mr Massey, Sir Joseph Ward, and the Canadian and Newfoundland delegates were welcomed at Elision by Mr W. S. A. Hewins (Undersecretary for the Colonies), on behalf of the Government, and Sir Thomas Mackenzie. A contingent of the New Zealand Rifle Brigade, headed by the New Zealand Band, welcomed the New Zealand delegates, who were escorted to then) hotel by a squadron of New Zealand Mounted Rifles on horses lent by the Life Guards.
The Hon. A., Fisher (High Commissioner for Australia) welcomed Air Hughes and the Hon. R. R. Garrau.
Air Alassey and fair Joseph Ward were interviewed on behalf of the London press. They reiterated tne desire of Australasia to prevent Germany re-occupying the Pacific Islands as bases against British dominancy in that part of the world. Up to the present, New Zealand had not been behind with a single man in keeping up its reinforcements. On the contrary, it had exceeded the monthly drafts. Both Ministers expressed admiration for the splendid type of American soldiers coming to Prance. The men were in deadly 'earnest about the task before them.-
