RESULT OF MALICIOUS FALSE

ALARM

Dunedin, May l(i

A man named Baxter, a fireman in the City Brigade, was killed'to-nighl; by the overturning of a small motor engine used for carrying the reel, while rounding a street corner. The accident is all the more distressing as the brigade turned out in response to a malicious false alarm. The same man had a leg broken while attending a tire some years ago. Two other men, named Oliver and M’Gill, who were on (he reel, were also injured, and were taken to the hospital.
