RED TRIANGLE APPEAL.

PATRIOTIC SHOP. The takings from the Patriotic Shop on Saturday last were devoted to the Red Triangle appeal, and a very successful day resulted, the shop being in charge of Mrs Sydney Easton and Mrs L. Freeman, who wish to heartily thank all those who helped to make the function such a success. The various competitions were most successful, and created a great deal of interest. The weight of the lamb given by Mr S. Easton was 35 lbs., and was guessed by Messrs Lurasden, Howe, Scadden, W. Petrie, and Kellow. The competition for Mrs Freeman’s dinner resulted in 200 tickets being sold, the winning ticket being No, 60, which was held by Mr A. J. Kellow, while Mrs R. Moore, with No. 21, won the supper. Mrs S. Easton’s cushion was won by Miss Kathleen Green, with No. 21, while Mrs Mandl won the camisole with No. 10. The number of pins in a bottle was 173, and Miss J. A. Ross won the dressing jacket by guessing 199, Mr Tim Castles was the winner of the 10s note. The weights of Dr, Mandl, Messrs Chrystall, Symes and Hawke have not yet been declared, so that the winner of the coal, is not yet known, and the competition for the red velvet cushion will be completed next Saturday. Gifts are acknowledged from Mesdames Francis, Mark Newth, A. S. Easton, A. Speirs, Harding, Alex. Ross, Woodfoofe, H. Thynne, Freeman, J. H. Robinson, Thynne senr., Syd. Easton, W. Crow, S. Read, John Robinson, Renton, Lash, Kempster, Chas. Robinson, Raine, Hawke, Miss MeKegg (Levin), Messrs A. S. Easton, T, Puller, H. Fuller, A. Fraser, L. Freeman, S. Read, Rev. Bredin, MeColl, Bock, C. Symons, Wm. Ross, G. Huntley, abd Walsh. On Saturday next Miss Robinson and assistants will have charge of the shop, and proceeds will be donated to the Wounded Soldiers’ Fund. THIRD LIST.

The list is not yet closed, and all those Avho have been missed by the canA’assers and are willing to subscribe, are urged to leave their donations Avith Mr E. Healey. The work of the Y.M.C.A, has been very much upset by the retreat of the British Army during the last tAvo or three Aveeks, and report states that £IOO,OOO worth of buildings, dugouts and stores have been destroyed, so that the need is noAV greater than when the Red Triangle appeal Avas first instituted.
