The recent rains in the Hawke’s Buy district have brought down :i heavy flood in the Manawatu. Yesterday afternoon- the water was over the Foxton-Palmerslon road at Hangiotu, and the Shannon-Sex-ton road. So far the Foxton-Levin road Is not inundated. The flood waters covered the Shannon road yesterday to a depth of 2 feet G inches. , The railway traffic between Poxton and Palmerston was not interfered with, although the train was delayed at Hangiotu last night.

The water was across the road in front of the railway station at Hangiotu, and a number of motor cars had to turn back or take a, more circuitous route.
