The report of the second annual meeting of the War Relief Association of Wellington contained the folloAving reference to the Avar work of the Church Army: “Your executive Avas impressed with the excellent organisation and character of the work being done by the Church Army, from Avhom an appeal for financial assistance avus received. The scope of the activities of the Church Army Avar Avork is very large, and this fact avus someAvhat of a revelation, owing to the nonexistence of any publicity campaign such as is adopted with great success by the Salvation Army and the Y.M.C.A. The grants totalling £SO per month for six months were approved by your committee, and a portion of the money has already been utilised to endoAv two beds each for a period of one year, the cots having placed over them, “War Relief Association of Wellington.” In a photograph of the first 20 of the patients in this hospital of septic Avounds are nine with colonial helmets, either from Australia or Nbav Zealand.
