A very interesting game for the Nye Ferns Avas played on the local green, yesterday afternoon, when the holders defeated a challenging rink by 4 points. In the holders’ rink, D. Wliibley played substitute for Mandl, Avho Avas absent. The game throughout Avas closely contested, and the result avus in doubt right up to the last head, on Avhich the holders scored three. Walker 24 beat Crawley 12, Cronquest 24 beat Spring 9, Healey 19 beat Lumsden 10.
So far eighteen players have signified their Avish to go to Feilding on Wednesday afternoon next, so there is little doubt Foxton Avill be represented by five rinks on that occasion. All names of those Avillihg to go must he on the board this week, as the rinks are to he arranged on Monday.
A match for the Dixon Cup Avill be played on the Feilding green on Saturday afternoon betAveen the holders, Harford’s rink, and a challenging rink from Woodville, skipped by Nicholson.
