HORTICULTURAL SOCIETY.
A well-attended committee meeting of the Above was held on Tuesday night, Mr P. G. Jackson, president, occupied the chair. Correspondence was read from the Commissioner of Stamps re payment of amusement tax on admission charge to the shows. It was, decided that the tax be paid by the Society upon the number of tickets sold for admission at Is. Resolved to procure books of tickets for the refreshment rooms.
The folloAving judges Avere appointed for the forthcoming Autumn Slioav; —Pot plants and cut blooms, Mr Shailer; fruit, vegetables, and farm produce, Mr Webb (vice Mr Bond); dairy produce, cookery and home industries, Mr F. 0. Smith; decorative, Mrs Hume (vice Mrs C. Nees, Otaki). Stewards. —Pot plants, Mr Whibley; cut blooms, 18 to 35, Mrs Symons; 36 to 69, Miss Speirs; fruit, vegetables and farm produce, Messrs Symons and Henderson; dairy produce, cookery and home industries, Mrs Renton,and Miss Pearson; decorative, Miss Signal; tearooms, left in the hands of the Secretary; SAveets ’stall, Miss Woodrofe; door steAvards, Messrs Rev. Harding, Whiblcy and Ashmore; vocal and musical items, Miss Doris Signal.
