BOROUGH FINANCES.
The Borough Treasure* reported at. Inst night’s Council meeting as follows: — The sum of .€320 I3s Id was received during the month of January, and placed to credit, as under; —District fund account £303 3s Id, cemetery account £l7 10s. The balances of the various funds at the Bank of New Zealand as at the 31st January, 1018, were as follow: District fund account, debit, £740 (is 4d, cemetery account, credit, £lO 0s 2d, and the ledger balances at the same date as follow: — Cemetery £lO 0s 2d, hospital and charitable aid £29 I7s Od, library £l3 18s lid, reserves £4O 8s Id, sanitation £193 0s lOd, town hall £lO 19s Bd, Whirokino bridge interest £3O 18s 2d, roads and streets £39 7s 7d, Shannon bridge £2O 4s lid, council chamber £8 2s 2d, Whirokino bridge No. 2 £3O 12 9d, roads and streets No. 2 £l9 16s Bd, Beach road £39 2s 3d, all in credit, a total of £492 15s 2d. The following accounts were at debit: Imprest cash £lO, general £327 3s lid, gas works £568 7s 6d, and gas works interest £323 9s lid, total £1,229 Is 4d. SUMMARY.
