The gas works manager reported at last night’s Council meeting as follows: —The amount of gas manufactured for the month of January shows a slight decrease as against December on the total, but an increase on the heating and cooking gas. You will notice that the unaccounted for gas is a little higher than the previous month, the reason being that I was unable to read all the meters on account of some consumers being away. The carbonising plant is working satisfactorily. I would recommend that the street lanterns and posts he painted, especially the funner, as they are in urgent need of same, —The report was adopted.
