SEA CAPTAIN’S SUICIDE.

Dunedin, Yesterday

Captain John Scott, the master of the Union Company’s steamer Kamona, cut his throat this morning, and died while on the -way to the hospital. He left the Kamona at Lyttelton last Wednesday-on sick leave, and came to his home in Dunedin.

Captain Scott, who was about thirty-six years of age, was generally regarded as being a very promising master in the Union Company. He was for a long time in charge of the Corinna, and was promoted recently to the Pohcrua, and then to the Kamona.
