CHRISTMAS GOODS.
A visitor to the well-known firm of G. H. Bennett and Co.’s establishment, Palmerston North, will be amazed at the splendid variety of goods stocked this year for the Christmas ti’ade. One wonders how it is possible in war time, with the shortage of shipping, for any firm to accumulate such a stock us is to be seen there this year. The Book department is possibly the most noticeable feature, and thousands of books, representative of all the leading publishers, would do credit to any large city house. Children’s books, books of art, science, travel, biography, dainty volumes 'of the poets and leading writers, make a really wonderful selection for all tastes. Leather goods of all kinds, including a beautiful stock of ladies’ handbags, dressing eases, workboxes, manicure sets, music eases, writing cases, are also on show. The new season’s stock of Tennis and Croquet goods is being opened, and the firm will have a very fine stock this year. Foxton visitors to Palmerston should not fail to visit Bennett’s bazaar.
