FATAL ACCIDENT.
VETERINARY SURGEON KILLED. A distressing fatal accident happened to Mr D. H. Rail, veterinary surgeon, at Palmerston, yesterday. The deceased was about to perform an operation upon a horse, when the animal suddenly kicked him, inllicting terrible injuries, and causing death almost immediately. The owner of the horse, Mr A. M. Bergersen, ran to Mr Rail's assistance, medical aid was summoned, but death was sudden. The late Mr Rait studied his profession at the University College, London, where he passed with honours. He leaves a widow and six children. s , Mr Rait wont away with the Main Body. He was a captain in the veterinary section, and remained about two years in Egypt.
