SEPTEMBER WORKING. The ga.s works manager reported as follows at Monday night's Council meeting:—The amount of gas umnalV.c fared for the month of September shows a slight decrease as against Die corresponding month of last year. I have increased the stock of coal in the yard as a stand-by, which I think is advisable. During the month I connected two new gas stoves, ami cleared water from main in Putter Street. As soon as the weather lakes up I intend to paint the gas holder that is in use, and also part of the condensers and scrubber. The carbonising plant is working satisfactorily.
