NEW MARINE LIFE-SAVING SUIT.

At Wellington on Sunday, Mr J. B. Clarkson, who has lately returned from a trip to England, gave an interesting exhibition of the use of a new marine life-saving suit which he purchased in New York prior to facing the submarine menace on the run across the Atlantic. Mr Clarkson donned the life-saving suit in his ordinary street attire, boots'and all, and then entered the water. The suit is thickly padded throughout Avith avool and kapok, Avhich gives not only the buoyancy, but Avarmth enough to resist the coldest AA'ator. The invention Avill hold up one man and eight others. It is Aveightod Avith lead at the feet to keep the Avearer in a vertical position. In Ncav York they are sold for IM, and are in great demand as a result of the submarine peril.
