PATRIOTIC SHOP.

Saturday hist was “men’s day” at (lie Shop, and Messrs J. Chrystali, Wm. Raiue, TV. E. Barber, F. 11. Crawley and A. -I. Kellow were in charge, and were kept busy all day. Competitions were arranged for the sheep, turkey, and ducks donated by Marotiri friends, and were very successful. The sheep weighed 50 llis., and live competitors guessed correct ly, and divided the spoil. The ducks were won by Mr A. Fraser, and the turkey by Air A. Hawke. Gifts are gratefully acknowledged from: Mesdames Woodroofe, AY. E. Barber, R. Campbell, Murdoch, J. Bampp, Harvey, J. 11. Robinson, Rivers, A. J. Gibbs, F. Robinson, Chrystali, C. If. Symons, John Ross, A. King, R. M(•■Murray, -las. Barber, John Robinson, C. H, Bodiimre, W. Symons, A. J. Kellow, W. Raine, F. de Ridder, Smith, Healey, Misses Hilda Thompson, Speirs, Scolt, K. Barber, S. Barber, -J. A. Ross, Messrs W. E. Barber, F. Crawley, F. Robinson, C. A. Spiers, J. Chrystali and C. Symons. A very acceptable gift was a box of butter from the Shannon Dairy Co. The result of the day’s work was £2O, which will ho handed lo the Foxton Ladies’ Patriotic Guild. Next Saturday the Shop will he in charge of .Mrs A. J. Gibbs and Mrs Jennings. A supply of apples will ho on sale, and various attractions are being arranged.
