STATE CONTROL OF LIQUOR.
In view of the fact that the Canadian Government has taken over the private railways of Hint Dominion, Mr 11. Yornon Reed (Bay of Islands) recently asked the Prime Minister in the House of Representatives whether the Government will apply Ihe principle to this Dominion in regard lo the liquor trade. The Right Hon. Mr Massey has replied that the Government cannot increase the financial liabilities of the Dominion during the war period,
