RETURNED SOLDIER’S HREC All IDES CONDITION. Hamilton, July !). A mysterious affair occurred at Erankton whereby a returned - soldier named Thomas Henderson was .seriously injured. The police were communicated with yesterday afternoon, and found the young man lying: in Tapp’s s(aides suffering great pain. Ih) was removed to the Waikato Hospital and examined. A wound was found (o the left side of the lower rih three inches deep, and it had penetrated the lung. The man’s depositions were taken. He said his name was Thus. Henderson, of Selwyn Street, Onelumga, and he warn a returned soldier. He arrived in the district a few weeks ago from J’a Inters! on, and had been drinking. He was unable to account for the presence of the wound. v Examination of the clothing showed that there was a round hole in the singlet, but no corresponding hole in either vosl. shirt, or coat, indicating that he was not wearing these when the wound was inflicted. Operations were performed, but his condition is precarious.
