SHORTAGE OF SHIPPING.
The .Minister of Agriculture staled on Tuesday; .1 am in daily communication with the High Commissioner on the subject of shipping, and wo hope that in time the position will be eased. Naturally, the people of New Zealand are anxious, but they can be quite sure that the Government of New Zealand and (lie Imperial Government arc doing their ulmo.-l to meet the requirements of ■ in* Dominion, and we hope for an improvement. It has, I know, been a dinicuil problem, but up to the present the wool-grower and the meat-grower and the dairy producer appear to be fairly well placed as far as things have at present developed. Mr .Massey and 1 have been doing our very utmost to emphasise tlit* position in New Zealand to the Imperial Government, and I can assure you that the best that can be done by the Imperial Government is, being done. I helievg (in reply to criticism! that (he Imperial Government is doing the best it can to meet New Zealand in its shipping requirements, and that the Dominion will, in due course, get its fair share.
