HOCKEY MATCH.
On Wednesday afternoon, at Hie school grounds, a team of “old girls”tried conclusions at. hockey with a team representing Hie school. During the first spell Hie play was very men. fin several occasions Miss Winnie Walls carried Hie hall down the held to the school's twen-ty-live, hut the old combination to which she was accustomed was to a great-extent lacking, mid Old Girls failed to score. Often, 100, they missed their chances by erratic shooting. (School's forwards, ed by -Miss MeMarray and backed up by Hazel Eewlli, Myrtle Andrew and Ivy Lacey, attacked well, and even the magnificent hilling by Miss Iliac Spring failed to prevent their scoring two goals, the first by Aliss AleAlurray and the second by Myrtle Andrew. Xatliale Spring, Ethel Griilin and Hilda Thompson made a strong defence for School. In the second spell Hie superior staying power of School began to tell, and they kept the visitors pinned down to their own twenty-live, during which some good lulling by Miss Kockel at times relieved the pressure. Old Girls latterly resorted to defensive tactics, and repeatedly prevented a score by driving the Dull over their own line. Miss Sarau Henderson, Miss Eileen Gummerlield and Miss Ella Patterson did splendid work for their side. Before the call of Lime, Miss MeMurruy scored another goal for School, the game ending 3 —o. Mr Gabites refereed. A return match is to be arranged shortly.
