Use your artistic talents. *‘ t ■ % * Don’t forget we want to make the Carnival a huge success. * * - * The Committee acknowledges with thanks the gift of £2 Ids each from Mr J. Ross and Mr L. freeman toward* the charge for the Town Hall. Also the sum of .Co As from Messrs .Stiles and Matheson, Ltd. The donors suggest that their donation he divided equally between the different stalls. Of course, their wishes will be acceded to. Music hath its charms! . Have you seen or heard the Darktown Band.’ Be on the racecourse on June 4th. The music is too good to he missed. The Maori trio have consented to lend their talents at the concert. The Athletic Committee met again last night, when it was reported that ,C 7 IDs had been ■collected for prizes, etc,, with a flirt her promise of fA. Messrs Harper Bros, have donated two guineas and a trophy for motor car events. Messrs Robertson and Kelly have also donated a trophy for the same event*. The horse event* Mart as soon as the procession reaches the racecourse, and the athletic events at 1 p.m. In order to save time, competitors are asked to forward their entries before Carnival Day. Entries for horse events will be received by Messrs Hunt and Freeman; athletic events by Messrs Claris, O'Brien and Ball; tug-of-war by Air Preston. A meeting of all Coiumillees will be held in the Council Chambers on .Monday night, a I 7.30 o’clock, when progress will be reported. A Dark '(’own Band will parade Main Street prior to the concert on .Monday night. For the decorated events many handsome trophies have been promised. For (he best dressed llax dray .Mr John Robinson has donated £1 Is as the first prize. Such a prize ought to encourage a large number of entries. This should add to the attraetion of the procession. 'The Borough Band will head the procession and discourse music during the day and prior to the concert in the evening. Produce Stall.- Mr Jackson wishes to acknowledge Mr 0. Robinson 3 guineas, Mr Neylon ID*. Mr C. Symons As, Mrs A. S. Easton turkey gobbler, Mr \\. Barber sack potatoes, Mr T. Harper purebred rooster. Mr K. Easton a sheep, Mr Purcell a fat land). Ollier donations have been promised, and the stall is likely to lie a great success.
