P. C. WEBB IN COURT.
ALLEGED SEDITIOUS UTTERANCES.
ACCUSED CONDUCTING HIS OWN CASE.
Christchurch, Yesterday
The adjourned charges against P. C. Weld), M.P., of making seditious utterances on the West Coast in contravention of the Military Regulations were called in the Police Court tins morning. The Court was crowded.* Webb conducted his own ease.
Mr Raymond, for the Crown, said accused had subpoenaed the ActingPrime Minister. Webb asked for another remand to give him time to prepare his defence and gel witnesses.
Decision regarding an adjournment and Sir dailies Allen’s evidence was cut short by the Minister's arrival. The Court' then adjourned till noon. Later. When Hie Court resumed, Sir dames Allen was examined by Webb regarding Ihe activities of accused in the set|lenient of the strike on the West Coast. This evidence was described by Mr Raymond as quite irrelevant (o the charge of sedition. The case was adjourned till Kith May. Dail was refuse'll.
