P. C. WEBB, M.P., ARRESTED.
ON CHARGES OF SEDITION. Wellington, May 1. Mr H. C. Webb, M.P., was arrested here to-day on charges of seditious utterances contained in two speeches, one delivered in the municipal election campaign at Greymouth. Webb was taken south in custody by to-night’s ferry. TWO MORE ARRESTS. Greymoiith, May 2. H. O'Rorke and James O’Brien were arrested to-day at Runanga. The arrest is believed to he in connection will) speeches made during the municipal campaign, Avhen both men spoke as members deputed to place the coal miners' position in regard to the anti-military service strike before the Labour Party’s meeting at Greynioulh. P. C. Webb, arrested in Wellington, addressed the same meeting.
