MANAWATU COUNTY COUNCIL.
MONTHLY MEETING
The regular meeting of the Maimwain County Council was held at Sanson on Tuesday. Present: Sir Jas. Wilson (chairman), and Crs. H. H. Hunt, B. Cray, Slrode, Penny. W. J. Phillips, W. E. Barber, and 11. C. Hammond.

The engineer reported; — Awahou Biding. —Mr IT. Belmmt is making fair progress with his contract for delivering metal on the Foxlon-Simnnon road, and in all probability will complete repairs lo the Eoxton-Shannon road in three weeks' time.
The I ram way manager reported for April: —Thelra/lie was good, and a credit balance of £I!J9 Js 9d is shown. During the month 1,910 cases of benzine and Kerosene have come up the line. Several Foxton llaxmillers have approached me with a view to getting the Use of I lie locomotive to haul (lax from Karen- and Bangioln to Foxton.
