PRESBYTERIAN CHURCH.
The quarterly meeting of the district executive of the Pox ton charge of the Presbyterian Church was held in the Poxton church on Monday forenoon. Present: Bev. J. H. Bredin (moderator), Messrs Hornblow, Benton, Jno. Boss, B. M. Parkes, J. Barr (Poxton), 11. Wilton, McCaulay, Simpson (Baugiotu), Parmer and J. Costall (Glen Oroua). Apologies for absence were received from Messrs Spoil's and It. McMurray. The treasurer presented the quarterly financial statement, which was discussed and adopted. A discussion took place on the motion to make a special effort to liquidate the loan from the New Century Fund instead of paying the half-yearly instalments as they fall due. It was (jointed out that the instalments were not now in arrears. The motion was lost. The treasurer said that about £3O, outside ordinary receipts, would be required before the end of the financial year to meet all outstanding liabilities. On the motion of Mr McCaulay ip was resolved that this sum be met in the following proportions : Poxton £ls, Glen Oroua and Kangiotu £7 10s each, such payments to be forwarded to the district treasurer on or before June -±th. An account of £4 17s was passed for payment. It was resolved to instruct committee secretaries to forward quarterly receipts to the treasurer a few days before the close of each quarter. Resolved that (he next quarterly meeting be held at Glen Oroua, the second Tuesday in July.
