GIRLS’ GUILD.

Mrs Fraser, a short time since, resigned her position as president of the Foxton Girls’ Guild, with which she had been actively associated since i(s inception. The members felt that they could not allow their late president to sever her connection with the Guild without making some recognition of the good work she has accomplished. On Tuesday night the members proceeded to Mrs Fraser’s residence and paid her a surprise visit. On behalf ot the Guild, Miss Sewell, the newly-el-ected president, asked Mrs Fraser to accept a suitably engraved silver entree dish, subscribed for by all the members. Miss Sewell expressed regret that Mi's Fraser had withdrawn from the Guild in connection with which she had rendered such splendid sendee. The token would remind Mrs Fraser of the happy associations with the girls in their efforts on behalf of the sick and wounded soldiers. Misses Pearson and Ncylon each presented bouquets, attached to which were ribbons representing the'

national colours. Mrs Fraser was lakcn by surprise- at (he Guild's visit, and feelingly acknowledged the kind thou<>h(s which lutd prompted the presentations.
