GENERAL SIR A. GODLEY’S TRIBUTE. The Hon. Sir James Allen( Minister of Defence) has received a letter from General Sir Alexander Oodley, expressing warm appreciation of the work of the ollicers and others left behind in New Zealand in the training of the troops. General Godlcy adds that considering the distance New Zealand is away and (lie dilliculties that have to be met, he thinks it is wonderful that the training should be so good, and rellects the greatest credit on those responsible for it. lie refers to the excellence of the arrangements for training the men, and says that it is evident no expense or trouble has been spared to perfect them.
