CORRESPONDENCE.
[To the Editor.] Sir. —I felt pleased to read Hml the Borough Council had decided lo erect a more ornamental hell tower in the new position instead of removing Hie old tower. .1 agree with Cr. Henderson’s idea that a combined hell tower and hand rotunda would he more ornamental and useful. It: is a great pity Unit such a structure could not be erected on the hill near Hie school and the surroundings beautified by planting suitable shrubs and a few seats piS there. The section at present is ;is big an eyesore as Hie old lire bell tower. Could not Hie Council arrange to take over this piece of ground and beautify it with the money received from Hie sale of portion of Hie Target Reserve sold to Hie Racing Club.' I. would like to know whether any rales arc paid on uie old cemetery, because it is used as a grazing-paddock. The Council could ('(invert the ground into a beauty spot at very little cost, it would he ideal for public celebrations. At present it is an eyesore. May I suggest I hat the Council give the matter serious consideration and make one job of the whole business. —Yours, etc., WELL WISH Eli.
