BRITAIN’S WAR COSTS.

The Nation, discussing Britain’s tremendous committments, states that when the new vote of credit of £550,000,000 is exhausted at (he end of May, the war bill will reach £4,182,000,000. The national debt will then he £4,200,000,000, The conclusion of the war will not bring immediate relief. It is probable that Britain’s total indebtedness will be £(>,000,000,000, of which £1,000,000,000 will be advanced to Hie Allies. We will be (-ailed on to pay £250,000,000 in interest yearly, in addition to £100,000,000 in .sinking fund and pensions.
The Nation estimates that the new war loan will lie over £(>00.000,000 of new monev.
