John Miller MeNarry Duncan, 41, was killed by a big' fall of metal in a quarry where he was working at Rakanui. Another man named William Cutler had a narrow escape. The pit had been frequently inspected, and no danger was apparent. Deceased leaves a wife and several children at Makuri.
Christchurch, Feb. 19. Jane F. Main, single, aged 53, of 82 Harper Street, Sydenham, died last night while going to the Salvation Army Hall.
