A FAMOUS SOOTHSAYER.
The Paris Temps, in its issue of 26th December, quotes an announcement taken from a provincial paper of (he death, at her small property near Meung, of Madame do Thebes, the famous soothsayer, in her 72nd year. By all classes of society the prophecies of Madame de Thebes, which were published each year about Christmas time, were eagerly read. She did not belong to the class of diviners of the future who always see horrors and mils ahead, but, being above all
patriotic, (he future she foretold for the enemies of Franco was invariably a lurid one. Her fifteenth and last almanac was issued only a few days ago, and in this latest prognostication she predicted that the war would end in the spring of 1917.
