HORTICULTURAL SOCIETY.

A committee meeting of the above was held last night, presided over hy the President (Mr P. O) Jackson). There were present: Mesdames C. IT. Symons, McMurray, Renton, Misses Signal, Speirs, Woodroofe, Messrs Bullard, Whibley and McMurray. Apologies for absence were received from Mr and Mrs Gallaml, Mr and Mrs J. Newtli, Messrs Kempsler, Hornblow, Ashmore, Henderson, Renton and Mrs Woods,

It was resolved that the charge for admission at the Autumn Show he sixpence in the afternoon and one shilling in the evening; that children making exhibits he admitted free on the afternoon of the first day. It was decided to add two sections to the schedule in the children’s class, viz., decorated table (Mr Jackson's specials 3s and 2s), decorated bicycle, (lowers and foliage only, to he done n the hall and bicycle to he ridden (Airs Symons’ 5s and Mr Jackson’s 3s). The following judges were appointed: Pot plants and cut blooms, Air F. Penn (Mr Black vice); fruit, vegelahles and farm produce, Mr Shailer; dairy produce, cookery and home industries, Mr F, 0. Smith; decorative, Airs Bradfield (vice .Miss Hume). Stewards were appointed ys follows: —Pot plants, Mr D, Whihley; cut blooms, 18 —34, Afiss Signal; do, 35 —67, Airs Symons and Miss Speirs ; fruit and vegetables, Messrs J. Newth and C, 11. Symons; farm produce, Air T. Henderson; dairy produce, cookery and home industries, Alesdames McMurray and J. Newth; decorative, Airs Renton; door stewards, Messrs Henderson and Kempsler; competitions and entertainments, President, Secretary, and Mr McMurray. The tea-rooms wore left in the hands of the President, Secretary and Air D. Whihley to arrange.

Afiss Woodroofe consented to lake charge of the sweets stall. It was decided to ask the Borough Baud and orchestra to contribute a programme of instrumental items.
