ANTI-SHOUTING.

POLICE TO INSIST ON ITS OBSERVANCE. The anti-shouting provisions embodied in the War Regulations have been in force for some weeks, says the Post. When they were gazetted it was suggested that the authorities would give the public and the licensees a few days in which to reconcile themselves to the new condition of aflairs. It appears, however, that the public has in many cast's failed to realise (he attitude of the police on the subject. A very careful watch has been kept, and the fact that no definite steps have been taken must nut be regarded as an indication that the authorities are not cognisant of what is going on. STrict instructions have

been given to the police to see that the law is observed by all concerned and there are hints of possible developments.
