PATRIOTIC SHOP.
The Patriotic-Shop on Saturday was opened by Mesdames John Robinson and Harvey, and the proceeds are to he devoted to the Christmas Gifts Fund now being raised to supply onr troops with Christmas comforts.
Good business was done, and great interest was taken in (he competitions, which resulted as follow :
Weight guessing for sheep donalod by Dr. Wiill, Moutoa. Twelve competitors guessed the correct weight, which was olllbs., and the sheep wits divided among (lie twelve. The competitors for throe sacks of coal donated by Mr W’m. Nye had to give the name of a Foxlon resident who c:ime into Main Street every day, and Mr Freeman was successful, nominating' Mr 11. Smith, of Rimmcr’s store..
The dozen photographs given by Mr Ernest Huntley were Jargelv sought, the competitor who guessed the amount of money in (lie shop till at closing time being the winner. This proved to he Mrs Peter Robinson.
Mrs .John Robinson’s cake was won by Mrs Hart and Mrs Renton.

Another sheep weight-guessing competition will he held. Also a competition, for a. cake.
Ladies who are culled mg' from the patriotic boxes are respectfully reminded that, proceeds should be handed to Mr Healey by Thursday next.
The monthly meeting' of (he Patriotic Society will be held at the Coimcd Chambers on Thursday evening next, at 7.30 p.m., when important matters will be discussed.
