A NATURE-LOVER ENLISTS.
Air Charles Barrett, C.M.Z.S., the well-known Australian writer of Natural History subjects, has enlisted for service abroad, and the last of a notable series of illustrated articles that have been quite a feature of “Everylady’s Journal,” appears iu that magazine for July, just published. Air Barrett’s photographs of wild birds are amongst the very best in the world, and those which accompany the article referred to are an uncommonly line lot. In the same issue there is another Nature article —-but of a practical charactei —in which the writer advises women how they may make a. living by growing herbs, supplying full directions where to buy and when to plant.
In this issue of Everylady’s Journal the Hon. W. A. Watt, BrigadierGeneral Hughes, and Air G. E. Emery, Inspector-General of the State Savings Bank, express striking views on “War-time Economy.”
On the subject of personal and domestic economy there is also much valuable and helpful advice in this number of Everylady’s .Journal. The usual practical departments lor women are amply tilled, while the free patterns and fancywork designs and fashions make it a splendid number for the woman in the home. Everylady’s Journal is sold locally for 7d, or 3s (id sent to T. Shaw Eitehett, 370 Swanston Street, Melbourne, will bring it by post for six months.
