“OUR PICTURES.”

From next week, Fuller’s Pictures at the Town Hall will bo taken over from the present firm by Mr W. Smith, who has managed the local business for Messrs Fuller’s, Ltd., during their lease of the hall from the Borough Council. At last night’s Borough Council meeting the transfer of the lease from Messrs Fuller’s to Mr Smith was ratified. The new lesset; is recognised as one of the most experienced picture managers in New Zealand, and has had a wide experience in this connection both on his own account and with.(he leading picture firms doing business in New Zealand. Since acting as local manager for Messrs Fuller’s, Mr Smith, by his courtesy and obliging disposition, has Avon the esteem of the public, who will wish him success in his venture. Mr Smith informs us that he recognised, in order to bring the business right up to date, and to justify more liberal patronage, it was necessary to provide the best pictures obtainable from all the leading sources of supply, instead of one as at present. This, he stales, he has been able to do, for he has obtained the exclusive Foxton rights to screen not only the New Zealand Picture Supplies’ films but the World’s and Metro, and also pictures from independent sources. This wide range of pictures will not be exclusively shown in any other proprietary house in Few Zealand. Mr Smith says he is out to give Foxton the best, and is in a position to “deliver the goods.” Further, he is now a resident of Foxton, and there is absolutely no hold by any picture firm over him, and the pictures will he run as an independent local proprietary venture. With up-to-date equipment, the exclusive Foxton rights of leading films, a. comfortable and Avell-appoinled hall, backed by courtesy to patrons, ho hopes to make “Our Pictures” one of the leading educational and pleasure resorts in the Dominion. He added that as a tree must be judged by its fruit, so the Foxton public in a. short time will be a Lie to judge as to the merit of the screenings of “Our Pictures.”
