WEDDING.
PODMORE—HARVEY,
A very pretty wedding was celebrated at the local Methodist Church yesterday afternoon, when Harold Henry, second son of Mr and Mrs C. H. Podmore, esteemed Foxton residents, was united in matrimony to Annie, third daughter of Mr and Mrs James Harvey, of Cambridge. The ceremony was performed by the Rev W. Rowe. The interior of the church was tastefully decorated and the service was fully choral, Miss Evans presiding at the organ. The bride was given away by her brother-in-law, Mr Lawrence. ot Fitzherbert,- owing to the unavoidable absence of her father. The bride was charmingly attired in white embroidered voile and wore the orthodox veil and carried a pretty bridal bouquet. The bridesmaids were Miss Clara Hart and Miss Amy Podmore (sister of the bridegroom) who were attired in pink crepe de chine, black hats trimmed with pink roses and each carried pink floral bouqets. Captain Arthur Podmore, of the Wellington city Salvation Army corps and brother of the bridegroom, officiated as best man and Mr E. Westwood as groomsman. After the ceremony relatives and personal friends were entertained at afternoon teaat Mr Walls’ rooms, when the usual toasts were honoured, the Rev Mr Rowe officiating as chairman. The happy couple left by motor for Palmerston en route to Rotorua where the honeymoon is to be spent, after which Mr and Mrs Podmore will take up their residence in Foxton. The bride’s going-away dress was a navy blue costume, mauve velvet hat trimmed with pansies. The wedding gifts testified to the popularity ot the couple. The bridegroom’s gilt to the bride was a jewelled brooch and to the bridesmaids a jewelled bracelet and brooch.
