DOUBLE ARREST.

EX-GERMAN CONSUL AND SECRETARY,

Auckland, Feb. 23

The arrest has been effected, under the Defence of the Realm Act, of the ex-German Consul in Auckland, Mr Carl Seegner, and bis former private secretary, Mr Lothar Eilander. In all probability both prisoners of war will be transferred to Motuihi or Somes Island, where there are internment establishments.
