MOTOR CAR FATALITY.
Timaru, Jan. 31. Henry Halllday, aged about 50 years, of Roslvn, Dunedin, was killed in a motor car accident near Temuka at 3.40 p.m, on Saturday. Mrs Scott, of Rotherham, Amuri, and her two daughters, Annie and Alice Scott, escaped with bruises and shock. Mr Halllday, to avoid another car, turned too sharply, a tyre hurst, and the car turned over twice, and then came to a stop on its side, with Halliday underneath. He sustained a crushed chest and face. At the inquest, the evidence of the driver accompanying the car suggested that the tyre burst through the • deceased making a sudden swerve.
